Prof Dr Gerald Linke (59) has been reappointed Chairman of the Executive Board of the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW). At its meeting in Dresden today, the DVGW Executive Committee agreed to an early extension of his contract for a further five years until 2029. "With his convincing work in terms of content and strategy, Gerald Linke is successfully driving the further development of the DVGW in a supply landscape characterised by upheaval and reorientation. Under his leadership, the DVGW has achieved important milestones for the industry, particularly in the transformation of the gas industry towards climate neutrality with hydrogen," explains Jörg Höhler, President of the DVGW.
Gerald Linke emphasises: "I see the renewed appointment as a great vote of confidence, for which I am very grateful. I am delighted to be able to continue to take responsibility for the sustainable direction of the energy and water industry. It will continue to be important for the DVGW to contribute technical and scientific expertise to regulatory decision-making processes and to be heard by society as a whole. Only by utilising this potential will we be best equipped to meet the complex challenges in Germany in connection with a climate-friendly and resilient energy and water supply."
